Finding Paraplanners: Chartered Financial Planners reveal tips
Recruiting and training new Paraplanners will be the central theme of an online seminar later today.
Chartered Financial Planner Gemma Siddle FPFS CFPTM Chartered FCSI, director of client services at north-east firm Eldon Financial Planning, will be among the panel for the Paraplanners Howwow.
Natalie Bell of Darlington-based Paraplanning firm Para-Sols, run by PFS board director Cathi Harrison FPFS, a Chartered Financial Planner, CFPTM, will talk about her firm’s leading Paraplanner graduate programme.
Chartered Financial Planner Rob Ellis FPFS, team leader for Paraplanning at Equilibrium Asset Management, completes the line up.
Organisers stated: “As a relatively new role within financial services, it's today's Paraplanners that have worked hard to define and establish the profession.
"But, one question remains, how do we build on this? Join May's Howwow panel in discussing the training, recruiting and the career opportunities for the generation who will follow in our footsteps and define Paraplanning for the future. A generation we're fondly calling 'Generation P'.
“They (the panel) will share their experience, and answer your questions on the training, recruiting, and the career opportunities for the next generation of Paraplanners.”
The webcast will offer thoughts on the practical experience from team leaders and employers who have recruited and worked with new Paraplanners.
Organisers said that this Howwow will appeal to those who are:
- someone who wants to take up Paraplanning as a career (from graduates, school leavers, career changers, to ex-advisers etc)
- an employer/team leader interested in hiring and developing your own Paraplanners
- working with young people looking for more information
It takes place online at 1pm.
