Former UK Chancellor Sajid Javid has accepted a job with US banking giant JP Morgan, re-joining the financial services sector.
The bank did not disclose his pay or details of the position but said it would not interfere with his duties as a MP.
He is barred from sharing sensitive information he received as Chancellor and the move has been approved by the UK’s Advisory Committee on Business Appointments which overseas jobs for former ministers when they want a job within two years of leaving a ministry.
Mr Javid was replaced as Chancellor in February after refusing to sack his advice team as part of a disagreement with the Prime Minister’s chief adviser Dominic Cummings.
Mr Javid formerly worked for JP Morgan in the US before moving to Deutsche Bank.
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair also accepted a job at JP Morgan after leaving office.
