IFA software founder joins web-based client service firm
The founder of an IFA back office system has joined the board of a fintech company, which works with financial advice firms.
Phil Hollingdale, founder of Staffcare and Finale, has joined Warwickshire-based Sammedia, which provides web-based client services to firms such as Sesame Bankhall, Tenet, Iress, Towry and Saunderson House.
Mr Hollingdale has launched five businesses, three in Fintech, including most recently Staffcare, which has over 3 million people on its platform and manages employee benefits and pensions auto-enrolment for about 10% of the UK’s workforce. It is now part of the SimplyBiz Group.
He founded Finale, an IFA back office system that was used by IFAs and IFA Networks in the early 90s. It was acquired by Ken Davy’s DBS in 1997.
He went on to launch Screen Pages, responsible for designing and building IFA websites.
Mr Hollingdale said: “Sammedia’s moneyinfo provides the most compelling proposition for the workplace to help educate employees regarding their finances. It puts an employee’s benefits in context to all their other finances.
“The market potential is huge and I am excited to be involved with Sammedia who have put together one of the strongest technology teams in the industry to reinvent the way people can access financial advice.”
Mik Cons, CEO of Sammedia, started out his career in pensions at an advice firm and has been involved in various businesses, most recently Parmenion, which was sold to Aberdeen Asset Management this year.
Mr Cons said: “Phil will make an excellent addition to the Sammedia board, as both a shareholder and director. There is no doubt in my mind that his wealth of experience, particularly in the workplace market, can add real value to our propositions. I’m very much looking forward to working with Phil after many years of friendly competition.”
