The Institute of Financial Planning annual conference has ended for another year with excellent feedback from delegates and high praise for speakers. The IFP conference, the biggest UK Financial Planning event, attracted more than 600 delegates this year and tickets are already selling for 2013. Keynote speeches by motivational speaker John Cremer and Carl Richards from The Behavior Gap were particularly popular with delegates. Outside of the keynotes, session speakers such as Pete Matthew from MeaningfulMoney and Simon Boulter from BoulterBowen were popular. Ian O'Connor from Astute Financial Planning said: "I thought Simon Boulter's speech was absolutely brilliant, it brought out emotion in me, was really heartfelt and very relevant."
Carolyn Gowen from Bloomsbury Wealth said: "To take three days out of the office is a huge investment in time but it's worth every minute. I enjoy the range of speakers and the quality of them as well as catching up with friends. I'll be coming again next year."
Special mentions go to Cooper Parry Wealth Strategies, Claire Menni and Jane Holt from Mackenzie Financial Planning who received awards. Sue Whitbread, IFP communication director, said: "It's been our most successful conference ever. The 'Inspiring Trust' theme has really taken hold and people have thought about their proposition with renewed focus. "The non-practitioner sessions have been particularly good, we haven't had a negative comment about any of the speakers." Next year's conference will be held from 30 September-2 October and delegates can buy tickets now for 2012 rates.
