East Midlands branch visited by trio of speakers
The East Midlands IFP Branch September meeting showed a further marked increase in attendance, which branch chair Gini Bolton CFPCM is hoping to build on further during 2013.
As Gini reports "Maybe this meeting's popularity had something to do with the fact that we had three particularly eminent and relevant speakers, although the excellent venue and fantastic networking we now enjoy also play their part too.
"Tracey Underwood of Pace Solutions Ltd started proceedings, with her talk on providing 'hands on' assistance to advisers who want to change or improve further towards being a New Model Adviser. Tracey writes regularly in IFP e-bulletins and has some great ideas to help Planners and Paraplanners to be more effective at what we do.

"Next was Shane Mullins, chief executive of Fiscal Engineers, who, along with Nick Cann of the IFP, is a founder of The Question of Trust campaign. This is something which I am sure we will hear a great deal more about in the coming months as the campaign develops further. Shane talked passionately about the reasons for the campaign and its progression. Watch this space for future updates!
"Our last (but by no means least) speaker was Tim Hale. If any of you haven't yet heard Tim speak, do make an effort to do so, as his simple and clear explanation of how to construct an investment portfolio is excellent and he is such a good orator too. The feedback from attendees was very positive indeed, and it's great to be able to share ideas and network with others too.
"We are now building on the 2012 programme to make next year's even better. I'm delighted to say that we have some excellent sessions in line. I have set a personal goal for increasing membership of the branch as the sessions are specifically designed to meet the needs of IFP members.
Whether or not you live or work near Nottingham please make the effort to come along to a meeting next year and bring a colleague too. The first visit is free for non- members! Both Financial Planners and Paraplanners are assured of a warm welcome as well as relevant and useful CPD content too."
