The IFP board has appointed Ian Leech as its second 'independent' director with effect from December 2013. Ian will join the other independent director, former Money Management Editor Janet Walford OBE. He replaces Richard Antrum who resigned from the board earlier in 2013 due to elevated work commitments elsewhere. Ian is also joining the IFP Membership Committee. {desktop}{/desktop}{mobile}{/mobile} Ian has been actively involved in the Financial Services industry for over 35 years, from Financial Planning, product provider and industry involvement perspectives. This has included senior leadership roles covering strategy, business development, sales, marketing and operations management covering both B2C and B2B sectors. Most recently he was a main board director with NFU Mutual, with previous roles with AXA and Sun Life. Ian said: "I'm delighted to be joining the IFP board at this exciting time in the development of the Financial Planning profession. It's great to see the enthusiasm that Rebecca and the whole IFP board have for the IFP and for Financial Planning and I'm looking forward to working with them." Steve Gazzard CFPCM, IFP CEO said: "The Board believe that Ian's experience in sales and marketing will really help IFP in our membership growth ambitions, and his main board governance experience will also contribute to an effective board."
