Informed Choice has built a business around its online marketing and leads the field for integrating various type of social media to produce the outcome that everyone desires; more clients. In 2011 25 per cent of IC's new business was generated via its online channels.

Andrew explained that all planners in the business are expected to contribute to the online marketing, all have LinkedIn profiles, Twitter accounts and write short blogs for the website. As each blog is posted, the various Twitter / LinkedIn accounts link to the blog and drive traffic to the website. On a fortnightly basis the best blog articles are put together in an electronic newsletter which is sent to clients, prospects and connections.
As a result the maximum benefit is generated from each activity. Andrew's advice was to start slowly but be consistent and keep at it as building credibility online takes time just as it would do in an offline interaction.
