IFP members urged to support Financial Planning Week
There are only three weeks to go until the Institute of Financial Planning's fifth consumer-focused Financial Planning Week on 26 November.
Financial Planning Week will run from 26 November-2 December this year and aims to promote the benefits of Financial Planning to consumers and encourage them to improve their "financial fitness."
The theme for this year is: Your Money, Your Life – helping people improve their financial fitness.
IFP members and all Financial Planners are urged to get involved to promote Financial Planning and their own firms to the public and the wider world.
There are numerous ways for members to support the initiative such as Financial Planning surgeries, media engagement and case studies.
Nick Cann, chief executive of the IFP, said: "With the new RDR environment just weeks away, it's more important than ever for Financial Planners to differentiate the value of the service they provide.
"Getting involved with Financial Planning Week is the ideal way to demonstrate just that, and to help build their brand with consumers via the broader media into the bargain."
A new feature this year is the online resources from Bamzonia for Financial Planners visiting schools. The resources aim to engage children in personal financial education and help them build financial confidence and life skills.
The IFP is also keen for members to get involved in the media by writing articles, doing radio interviews, providing case studies or writing blogs.
Mr Cann said: "Last year we had over 200 separate media articles published during Financial Planning Week. With the help of members, we're hoping to beat that this year and make it our most successful campaign to date."
