IFP Scottish Conference receives positive feedback
The Institute of Financial Planning Scottish Conference was deemed a success this week.
This year saw a change of scene and was the first time the conference had been held in Glasgow rather than Edinburgh.
Held on 15 November with a best practice workshop the preceding day the conference was attended by 75 delegates.
Speakers at the conference included Daniel Priestley, Abbie Tanner, Don Fraser CFPCM and Tony Wickenden.
Topics ranged from behavioural finance to tax planning.
Nick Cann, chief executive of the IFP, said: “The conference went very well, we had a similar number of delegates to last year, the move to Glasgow did not make a difference, and received strong feedback from attendees.
“Scotland has a very strong community of Financial Planners and I think IFP events always have a very good representation from Scottish Financial Planning firms.”
Keynote speakers Daniel Priestley and Abbie Tanner were well-received on being a key person of influence and value propositions respectively.
IFP President Marlene Shalton is herself going through Mr Priestley’s programme on potential and what people are able to achieve and says it is “enjoyable and worthwhile”.
The best practice workshop was new to the conference this year, open to IFP members only, and offered delegates more practical sessions than the conference.
Respected planners including Alan Dick CFPCM from FortyTwo Wealth Management and Sandy Robertson FIFP CFPCM from Acumen Financial Planning shared their tips with delegates.
This received positive feedback from delegates and will be repeated at next year’s conference.
