@IFP_UK nominated as a top financial advice Twitter feed
The Institute of Financial Planning has been nominated in a poll to find the best financial advice Twitter feeds.
The poll, by mortgage comparision website Remortgage Supermarket, has nominated 25 firms and individuals as the ‘Top 25 IFA Tweeters’.
Nominees were chosen by their Twitter influence, frequency of Tweets, number of followers and usefulness of tweets.
The IFP Twitter feed is @IFP_UK and it currently has over 1,175 followers.
The feed will be particularly active in the next few weeks in the countdown to Financial Planning Week on 21-27 November.
Sue Whitbread, communications director at the IFP, said: “We were very pleased to be nominated in top 25, it’s good to get recognition for what we’re doing on Twitter. We do our best to provide a good balance of news, views, events, ideas and information.
“With almost 1,200 people following us, a number which has grown rapidly in 2011, it’s become a powerful communication tool for us to engage with IFP members and the larger profession.”
Other nominees include IFP member and managing director of Informed Choice Martin Bamford, @martinbamford, Philip Calvert, founder of IFA Life, @IFALife and Tom Baigrie, managing director at Baigrie Davies and Lifesearch, @TomBaigrie.
Currently (4 November) spoof site @OldSkoolAdvice is in the lead followed by financial journalist Alasdair Pal, @IncisivePal and there is only four votes between the top five.
Unfortunately, Financial Planner was not shortlisted as it’s a very new site but our feed can still be followed at @FPM_Online and it’s growing rapidly in popularity.
