Mark Polson from the lang cat has launched his second guide to platform pricing. The guide, entitled 'Like A Wounded Bull: Guide to Platform Pricing' gives advisers, Paraplanners and providers help on choosing and comparing platforms. There is analysis on costs and details of how platforms have coped with RDR and the impact of the Financial Conduct Authority platform paper PS13/1. Mr Polson said: "With the publication of PS13/1, a flurry of new propositions in the market and an ever-present regulatory focus on costs as a key indicator of suitability, price and the commercial reality facing platforms has to be something advisers keep on top of. {desktop}{/desktop}{mobile}{/mobile} "The Guide is all about creating a simple, usable baseline which allows advisers (and providers) to see the broad sweep of the market and get a coherent, unbiased, independent view of what's going on." Mr Polson will be a speaker at this year's Institute of Financial Planning conference. His speech on 2 October is titled 'Step away from the rebates with your hands raise: what next for platforms and those who use them?'
