New chair named for global Financial Planning body
A new chairman of the global Financial Planning Standards Board has been named.
Pamela J. Packard, president and CEO of Strategic Enterprises becomes chairperson-elect of its board of directors.
She said: “I am honoured to serve on the FPSB board, and accept the board’s confidence in me with gratitude and determination to serve FPSB and our many stakeholders as we grow and promote the financial planning profession for the benefit of the global community.
“I am particularly interested in ensuring that the FPSB network embraces the viewpoints and experiences of the global financial planning community, and related professions, so that the FPSB board can lead with an understanding of the impacts that technological advances and global market shifts are having on the delivery of financial planning advice.”
Sanjay Sachdev, CFP, FPSB board chairperson, said: “Pamela has played a significant role on the FPSB board of directors since her appointment in 2012, and I’m delighted that the board has chosen her to join me in leading FPSB.
“Her in-depth knowledge of the organisation and her focus on strategy and ability to assess the impacts of our global business environment will serve FPSB very well as we engage in our strategy refresh this year.”
Prior to her current position, Ms Packard spent nearly 25 years at BDO Seidman, where she served in various positions, including vice chairman, board member, and national tax business line leader.
Ms Packard also serves as president of National Association of Corporate Directors New York Chapter and is recognised as an NACD governance fellow.
Packard is one of nine members of the FPSB Board from territories including: Australia, Brazil, the People’s Republic of China, India, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States.
