There is one week until the Institute of Financial Planning's Scottish conference takes place on 19-20 November. The conference, to be held at the Radisson Blu hotel in Edinburgh, will take the form of a Financial Planning practice day followed by a conference on the second day. The first day will be a Financial Planning Day on the Monday which will focus on the 'real' principles of Financial Planning and will provide an opportunity to find out how it is done within successful businesses. Speakers will include Malcolm Murray from Transact, Robert Lockie FIFP, CFPCM from Bloomsbury and Kim Bendall CFPCM and Richard Allum CFPCM from Paraplan Plus.
It will be similar to the Financial Planning Day which the IFP held in London in February and will end with an informal dinner and drinks. Tuesday will see the main conference taking place with a mixture of keynote and track sessions, including a keynote from IFP President Rebecca Taylor FIFP CFPCM. Speakers include Michelle Hoskin from Standards International, Greg B Davies from Barclays Wealth and Gillian Hepburn from Quality Platform Solutions. Topics covered vary from ETFs and due diligence to behavioural finance and working in a family business.
