Paraplanner sessions at the IFP Annual Conference
Paraplanners attending the Institute of Financial Planning Annual Conference will have their own dedicated track sessions next week.
The 'All about Paraplanning' sessions will feature speakers such as Holly Mackay from the Platforum and Justin Urquhart Stewart from 7IM.
They will be talking about keeping up to speed with platforms and steering through the storms of the investment market.
There will also be an award given to the Paraplanner of the Year, in association with Richard Allum's firm theparaplanner.com. This was won last year by Gary Tunstall CFPCM, formerly of Brook Dobson Brear and now outsourced Paraplanner at ParaSols.
The features are a way for the IFP to underline the importance of Paraplanning to the Financial Planning community and Paraplanners have previously commented how they enjoy having their own sessions.
It is also a chance for Paraplanners to meet up with other Paraplanners and share ideas and knowledge, especially as the job is usually an office-based role.
The IFP has been a keen supporter of the Paraplanning profession over the past few years and held its first Paraplanning Conference last year. It also developed the Certificate in Paraplanning qualification which can be gained independently or as a step towards becoming a Certified Financial Planner professional.
The IFP Annual Conference will take place at the Celtic Manor Hotel in Newport, South Wales from 1-3 October.
