The Paraplanners Assembly, the support community for Paraplanners, is to run its annual conference as a virtual event called ‘The Big Day Out In.’
The Paraplanner group promises the event, on 10 September, will avoid being “your usual 'wall of faces' online conference.”
The group, which changed its name from Paraplanners Powwow recently to avoid concerns about cultural appropriation, has run an annual Powwow event in a large Teepee in Northants each September. The group has now dropped native American symbols.
This year, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the event will take place online. The event will include a surprise theme and other new elements, the group says.
In an email to members the Paraplanners Assembly said: “We've got a date for a national Paraplanners shindig where our usual mix of meeting fellow Paraplanners, workshops and gurus will take place.
“It's going to be online (surprise, surprise), but this is not your usual 'wall of faces' online conference. We're still planning 'The Big Day Out In' for you all, and you don't have to step outside your own door.
“The theme is...well, that will be revealed very soon - your hosts have been sworn to secrecy too.”
More details will be available on the Paraplanners Assembly website shortly: https://paraplannersassembly.co.uk/
