Delegates at the CISI Paraplanner Conference, at the Crowne Plaza hotel, in Stratford-Upon-Avon, today took part in a lively interactive session looking at Financial Planning dilemmas.
The session was led by Rebecca Aston, the CISI’s head of professional standards and looked at professionalism, knowledge, trust, skills and behaviour.
One theoretical example involved an assistant putting out an social media anonymous social media post about a celebrity client.
Delegates used keypads to cast votes on a range of options Financial Planning firm executives should take.
They included disciplinary action, deleting the post, a public retraction own nothing.
They then debated the result and voted again to see whether the mood had changed following the group discussion.
The public retraction response won the vote both times.
A similar exercise was undertaken with a ‘secret inheritance’ scenario.
