Paraplanners gear up for next Powwow ‘unconference’
Paraplanners Kelly Guttridge and Jo Radcliffe will be hosting 'The Powwow in the Middle' event, the next in the Powwow series, which will be held in Oxfordshire.
The event, which will be held on 23 November, aims to address topics such as report writing, risk and day-to-day top tips and gives those in the Paraplanning profession the opportunity to “share, learn and fix issues” faced by the Paraplanner community.
The informal get-together, with Paraplanners choosing the topics to discuss, is free to attend and takes place in the afternoon at Chipping Norton Golf Club. For more information click here: paraplannerspowwow.co.uk
The last major Powwow event saw 100 Paraplanners and expert speakers heading to teepees in Northants in September for the annual Paraplanners’ Powwow ‘unconference’. The Powwows have now been running for over five years.
Caroline Stuart FPFS, a Chartered Financial Planner and head of technical at Financial Planning firm DB Wood in Newark, was the host of the fifth annual Powwow.
Investment expert Justin Urquhart Stewart, co-founder of 7IM, was also a speaker at the event. Discussion topics included report writing, how to influence your own company, compliance and other topics relevant to Paraplanning.
In January, Powwow announced a new package of initiatives and a new raft of plans to upgrade the event were drawn up following founder Richard Allum stepping down from his frontline hosting role.
About 700 people have taken part in the various Powwow events so far and Mr Allum hopes to boost that number further this year.
