Paraplanners heard detailed technical advice on dealing with pensions in divorce cases at the CISI Paraplanner Conference in Hinckley this afternoon.

Lisa Webster, technical resources consultant at AJ Bell, told delegates at a break out session about the options for pensions following marital break-up.

She spoke about offsetting, earmarking and pension sharing orders (PSO).

Ms Webster addressed tricky issues like splitting pensions tied up in commercial property and other illiquid investments.

She also spoke about protection issues.
