Pensions specialist and CII examiner retires after 40 years
Intelligent Pensions has snapped up a pensions specialist from Royal London.
Fiona Tait has joined as technical director, with veteran pensions expert David Trenner retiring after 40 years in the industry.
Mr Trenner holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate including the G60 Pensions qualification and he has been a senior pensions examiner for the CII.
Ms Tait has been in financial services since 1989 and is vastly experienced in the pensions market. Her job will entail helping to guide and communicate technical pension issues to both financial advisers and direct clients along with trustees and employers responsible for workplace pensions.
Steve Patterson, MD, Intelligent Pensions, said: “David has made a positive contribution at Intelligent Pensions and we have all enjoyed working with him. We wish him the very best for his retirement and are pleased that he is now able to benefit from his own retirement advice.
“Fiona is a great addition to the company and to our senior management team. She has worked tirelessly to raise the technical standards in the pensions industry and is outspoken in her views on how changes and improvements can be made to encourage long term savings and ensure better consumer outcomes. Her technical knowledge is second to none and as we continue to develop the business she will be a driving force behind this.”
Ms Tait said: “Intelligent Pensions is highly regarded across the retail and institutional pension sector providing high levels of technical support, guidance and advice. When looking to make the next move in my career, it was an obvious choice for me. I have known David for many years and I look forward to continuing his work, along with the team, across their range of pension and retirement planning services.”
Mr Trenner, technical director, Intelligent Pensions, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my career in pensions and in particular with Intelligent Pensions. Over the past 40 years, there have been very few dull days and I have continued to learn and meet some fascinating people. I now look forward to spending more time with my wife and family and keeping up with my cricket and football interests.”
