Royal London appoints new investment committee member
Royal London has appointed Candia Kingston as an independent member of its Investment Advisory Committee (IAC).
Ms Kingston has more than 20 years’ experience of the UK pensions and investment industry and holds professional trustee roles at Capital Cranfield Trustees and Scottish Pension Trustees.
She has chaired a number of trustee boards and has worked with schemes ranging from £3m up to £6bn.
She will join a team of five pensions and investment experts on the IAC.
The committee has an independent chairman and has representatives from the Royal London Group and Royal London Asset Management as well as independent members.
Ms Kingston will be the third independent member.
The IAC’s role is to meet on a regular basis to review RLAM’s risk-graded Governed Portfolios and fund range.
They are tasked with looking at whether the funds have the best blend of assets to meet customer objectives.
It reports directly to the Royal London board and operates independently of RLAM which has day-to-day running of internal funds.
Lorna Blyth, head of investment solutions at Royal London Intermediary, said: “It is very important that we have independent voices on our IAC and Candia’s appointment ensures we maintain a robust independent presence.
“She has a strong track record of analysing and choosing appropriate investment strategies and managers across a range of different sized pension funds and we are very pleased to welcome someone of her experience and ability to the committee.”
