Sex offender Financial Planner owns 75% of shares in firm
A Financial Planner jailed last week for a sexual assault and other offences has seen his directorship terminated at his company but remains a majority shareholder and the firm is still in operation this week.
According to Companies House records, Frank Cochran was axed as a director at the company that bears his initials, FSC Investment Services, last Wednesday.
Mr Cochran, who employed 13 people at FSC Investment Services and featured on TV interviews on Sky, ITV and CNN, was found guilty of assault by penetration, using controlling and coercive behaviour and putting a person in fear of violence by harassment. He had earlier pleaded guilty to owning a Taser bought on holiday. He was jailed for seven years at Stafford Crown Court last week.
Despite the conviction official records revealed this week he still owns at least 75% of the Wolverhampton-based company’s shares and the firm remains in business.
Following Mr Cochran’s imprisonment, developments at the company have included the appointment of a new person at the top. The FCA Register shows that director Blair Dunsmuir was in charge as the principal contact for the firm this week.
Meanwhile seven out of nine officers have resigned, according to Companies House and a number of videos and other media featuring Mr Cochran have been removed from the firm’s website.
Financial Planning Today has sent Mr Dunsmuir a number of questions regarding the future direction of the company. He was this morning said by the company to be on holiday and unavailable for comment when Financial Planing Today contacted the firm.
Mr Cochran is listed on the FCA site today as “status: inactive” but the firm is still registered and active. The FCA was today asked whether it was considering removal of FSC Investment Services from its register.
An FCA spokesman said: “We cannot comment on firms or individuals.”.
Following the case last week, the FCA issued a statement which read: “FCA is aware of the press reports yesterday that Frank Cochran has been sentenced to prison.
"We are actively looking into this and are communicating with the firm.”
