Shake up of senior management at wealth advisory firm
Towry, the wealth adviser, has today announced a shake up in its senior management team following the recent acquisition of Baker Tilly's private client financial advice and investment management business.
John Porteous CFPCM, a regular speaker at IFP events, has been appointed as head of client proposition and will sit on the executive team.
Mr Porteous, who joined Towry as part of the recent acquisition, was previously head of wealth management at Baker Tilly Financial Management.

He has also worked at Macquarie Bank and BDO Stoy Hayward Investment Management.
He replaces David Middleton, who leaves Towry after seven years with the company.
Garry Appleton, who has also been appointed to Towry's executive committee, will be taking on the role of head of risk & compliance from Alec Macallan, who has held this position on an interim basis for the last two years.
John White, previously chief executive of Baker Tilly Financial Management, has been assisting with the integration of the business into Towry.
He will leave at the end of June together with Mike Toole, head of financial management operations at BTFM and Charles Haygarth head of compliance at BTFM.
