The Bank Rate's record period of stability has today hit the six year mark, after it was frozen again.
The rate will be remaining at 0.5% after it was announced this afternoon that The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee has voted to maintain it for another month.

The base rate has been unchanged for an unprecedented period, with the last time a change was made being March 2009.
The committee also voted to maintain the stock of purchased assets financed by the issuance of central bank reserves at £375 billion. The minutes of the meeting will be published at 9.30am on Wednesday 18 March.
