SJP partner named ’Best Financial Planner’ at awards
Carla Brown has been named ‘Best Financial Planner’ at the latest EIS Awards.
The founder and managing director of Oakmere Wealth Management, in Cheshire, and St James’s Place partner was a winner for the second time in the space of a month.
In January she scooped the ‘St James’s Place 2018 Chartered Financial Planner of the Year’ gong at the firm’s Chartered Symposium in London.
The award recognises an individual who has “raised professional standards and demonstrated a commitment to their profession and to their clients within their area of expertise.”
Ms Brown is one of 743 St. James’s Place Partners and advisers to have achieved Chartered Financial Planner status, of which 18% are women.
Edward Grant, divisional director responsible for professional development at St. James's Place, said: “This is an incredible achievement for Carla and is a real testament to the quality of her work and the service she provides to clients.
“We’re committed to the ongoing development of all our partners and strive to build a thriving community of Chartered advisers to serve the industry.
“Carla sets a great example to others who are looking to grow their levels of knowledge, skill and capability.”
Ms Brown was one of five finalists to be shortlisted for the SJP award.
Commenting on both accolades she said: “I am absolutely delighted to win these awards, particularly given the high calibre of the other finalists and the increasingly high standards that this industry requires.”
She has over 23 years in the financial services industry, achieving the status of Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society in 2012.
Ms Brown is a member of the Society for Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) and has recently graduated with an MSc in wealth management from Loughborough University.
She founded Oakmere Wealth Management in 2011.
