A team of cyclists will set off from England to France tomorrow for a major fundraiser for the Stroke Association inspired by IFP chief executive Nick Cann. His wife Jo Cann and former IFP President Julie Lord are among the crew raising thousands of pounds for the charity. They will ride 300-miles over four days to Paris. The pair, part of Team Nick, have so far raised £16,000. Jo, head of change for UK and corporate benefits at Friends Life, said: "As you all know Nick had a stroke in March last year. "Our world turned upside down and very quickly we had to learn about stroke, speech therapy and all the after care. "The Stroke Association does some great work and really promotes life after stroke. "JustGiving sends your donation straight to the Stroke Association so it's a quick and safe way to donate." {desktop}{/desktop}{mobile}{/mobile} She said: "My good friend Julie Lord is cycling with me as well as my sister in law, Honor, her daughter Lucy Claire and Nick's cousin Kate Whittaker. "We're doing it for Nick and all stroke sufferers. He's our inspiration but we're also hoping to raise lots of money to help all those who have suffered from strokes." She said: "I think we'll get there, it's a team effort. We'll all spur each other on. If we raise £20,000 that will make a massive difference." Supporters can donate via JustGiving.
