Teepee-dwellers inspire another Paraplanner Pow Wow
Teepee-dwelling Paraplanners have inspired their compatriots to create another event to bring the profession together – this time in the north-west of England.
The latest in what has become a series of Paraplanner Pow Wows has been announced this week, with Manchester set as the venue for July 23.
Adorned in war paint like native Americans, Paraplanners took part in the first Pow Wow last year in Northamptonshire.
The event, designed to bring Paraplanners together to discuss best practice and exchange ideas in a less traditional and more informal setting, has been the inspiration for four others now.
Anita Wright and Kate Banham have organised the Powwow North West at Manchester Metropolitan University.

They said the event was about getting together with Paraplanners on their patch to "talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly of Paraplanning, to create a meeting of minds about best practice".
Participants will be asked by email what they want to discuss before the event takes place and this will be factored into the round-table discussion on the day.
The kinds of topics that have been up for discussion at previous Powwows include:
• Sharing of ideas on processes, such as the review or research process
• What do you do that the clients love?
• Are your processes slick and streamlined?
• Platforms and other centralised investment propositions
• Exam preparation, qualification routes and study tips
The Pow Wow is free to attend and will take place from 2pm to 4.30pm on 23 July.
