Tilney appoints new head of Financial Planning
Wealth management and Financial Planning firm Tilney has appointed Andy Grant as head of Financial Planning.
Mr Grant will be responsible for leading Tilney’s UK-wide Financial Planning business and developing and executing its growth strategy.
Tilney’s Financial Planning business comprises 208 client facing Financial Planners who operate from 30 office locations across the UK.
The company says Mr Grant has “extensive senior management experience in financial services and insurance firms.”
He joined Tilney from the British Business Bank where he has served as chief operating officer.
He was previously COO of Royal London, where he focused on preparing the group for growth and execution of a new strategy.
At Royal London he developed and led the group-wide transformation that repositioned the existing businesses under the Royal London brand across long-term savings, protection, wrap platform and asset management units; the launch of a digital direct to consumer business; and the integration of the insurance and asset management businesses acquired from the Co-Op.
Mr Grant also previously served as COO at insurance group Amlin where he led the carve-out integration of Fortis Corporate Insurance.
He was retained by RBS to advise on post acquisition strategy for the separation and integration of ABN AMRO Global Markets.
After graduating in monetary economics from the London School of Economics, Mr Grant began his career at management consultancy firm Accenture.
He then spent a decade at UBS, latterly with UBS Wealth Management where he was a managing director with responsibility for growth and change in the UK
market.
