Tilney has continued its hiring drive following the takeover of Towry by appointing the first investment manager in its Bristol office.
Justin Ogilvie, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, has been appointed, joining a well-established Financial Planning team.
Following the company rebrand, the newly named Tilney Group, expressed its intentions to start a recruitment drive, including for ‘highly skilled Financial Planners’.
The firm said today it is looking to make further investment management hires in Bristol.
Mr Ogilvie has over 20 years’ experience. He started his career in institutional sales at Cazenove & Co and has since worked in private client investment management for Greig Middleton, which became Gerrard and then Barclays Wealth. Most recently, he was a senior investment manager at Smith & Williamson’ – a role he held for over nine years.
Alan Edwards, Tilney’s head of investment management for England, said: “Justin is a highly experienced investment manager and has considerable experience developing client relationships.
“The development of a local Investment Management presence in Bristol will help reinforce Tilney’s ‘two expert’ approach to supporting clients with both Financial Planning advice and tailored investment management. As we look to expand our business, we will be looking for investment managers of the highest calibre.”
