Currently 26% of the advisers using VouchedFor are female.
Financial adviser review site VouchedFor has added a new feature enabling users to search for advisers by gender.
VouchedFor released the new feature following data showing that many clients feel more comfortable working with female advisers.
According to the review site, women comprise only 16% of financial advisers nationally. Currently 26% of the advisers using VouchedFor are female.
Hattie Spurrell, director of adviser success at VouchedFor, said the site’s reviews show that female clients rate female advisers higher than their male counterparts.
She said: “On average, female clients tend to build stronger relationships with female advisers than male advisers. They speak more often, are more comfortable contacting their adviser outside of normal scheduled meetings, and are more comfortable sharing personal challenges.”
Net Promoter Scores from female clients of female advisers using the review site are slightly higher (94%) than from male clients of female advisers (92%).
The soon-to-be-published VouchedFor’s 2025 Guide to Top Rated Financial Advisers will feature a record 2,633 advisers and 131 firms.
VouchedFor, which collates reviews of financial advisers, says the number of advisers listed is up 20% on last year and there is a 17% increase in qualifying firms.
The guide will be distributed in The Times on Saturday and The Telegraph on 25 June.
In total, VouchedFor expects the Guide, backed by fund manager Blackrock and platform Fundment, to reach more than 3 million consumers.
VouchedFor claims it is the UK’s largest consumer campaign promoting the value of advice.
