A wealth firm has teamed up with the CISI to create an internship for an investment analysis student, in order to kick-start his career in the industry.
Aston University Masters student James Townsend will join West Midlands-based BRI as an intern for two months as part of a pilot scheme. He is studying for an MSc in investment analysis.
Mr Townsend will get to see all of BRI’s departments. He will be analysing various metrics and business practices in the wealth management sector and has been given a project designed to improve his knowledge of the industry.
He said: “I am looking forward to my time at BRI and gaining valuable experience from a company that tailors its approach to its clients. I hope this placement will enable me to work in wealth management in the future and I believe I have the potential to make a positive contribution during the internship.”
BRI said it regularly offers work experience placements to students each summer.
Vince Hopkins, chief investment officer, said Hopkins said: “This is a great opportunity to not only partner with CISI, but also offer students the opportunity to work for an independently owned wealth management company.
“We have built a successful business by focusing on truly personal service and we hope by experiencing this, it will help James facilitate a full time role within our industry.”
