Steve Webb, the former pensions minister, is to become a Knight of the realm.
Mr Webb has been awarded a knighthood for political and public service in 2017's New Year's Honours List.
Since losing his seat as an MP in the 2015 General Election, he has been working for Royal London as director of policy.
The Pension's Regulator has two new OBEs.
Charles Counsell, the executive director of The Pension's Regulator, and actuary Andrew Young were given the honours, the latter for services to pensions policy.
Sheila Nicoll, head of public policy at Schroders, was handed an OBE for services to financial services and voluntary service. She was director conduct policy at the FSA and, before joining, she worked as deputy chief executive for the Investment Management Association.
