Towry has formed a new partnership with Professional Player magazine, set up by former Tottenham Hotspur winger Matthew Etherington and his father Peter.
The midfielder, whose clubs included Stoke City and Peterborough United, is teaming up with Towry Financial Planners – including Peter Cormack, himself a former professional footballer.
He will be working with footballers to create and implement lifetime financial plans as part of the agreement.

Mr Cormack, Financial Planner and wealth manager, said: "Many professional footballers have the potential to earn a lot of money during their playing career, and it is therefore vitally important to ensure they have something to show for it when they stop playing.
"In certain situations some retired footballers may go as long as 20 years before being able to access their pension funds, and may need the money they made as a footballer to last them over this lengthy period.
