The IFP board met for its annual strategy meeting in November, welcoming Simon Boulter CFPCM and Andrew Brook-Dobson CFPCM for the first time. In addition to the two CFPCM professionals, the board also welcomed Richard Antrum as an independent director to help it with its thinking.

The second meeting this year of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) took place in Washington DC in October. The IFP was represented at the full council meeting – the biggest one of the year, by chief executive Nick Cann and President Marlene Shalton FIFP, CFPCM. There are now 25 countries affiliated to the FPSB and over 140,000 CFPCM professionals worldwide.

IFP Scottish conference enjoys positive feedback from delegates
Don't deleteIn November, the IFP Scottish Conference saw a change and moved to Glasgow from its usual Edinburgh venue. Around 70 of the leading Financial Planners in Scotland plus a couple from elsewhere in the UK contributed to make it an excellent event which generated very positive feedback from delegates.
The October branch meeting for the Northern Ireland branch saw a great turn out, welcoming David Jones of Dimensional Fund Advisors on the subject of “making complex simple.”
