A guide for finance firms on how they should use social media is being drawn up by the Financial Conduct Authority.
The regulator has confirmed that it intends to publish the document early in 2014.
The FCA told Financial Planner Online it will provide guidance for firms on getting it right and to help ensure their content is appropriate.

It said social media is partially covered already in its guidance on general communications but the new advice will go into it more specifically.
The FCA said in a statement: "We are developing social media guidance in response to the financial services industry but also because we are fully aware about the increased use of social media."
