Host of expert speakers at Defaqto DFM conference
A host of expert speakers will delve into the Discretionary Fund Manager 'universe' tomorrow in Birmingham.
The Defaqto DFM conference 2015 is taking place at the ICC conference centre from 10am, giving guests information about the key issues now impacting the discretionary space.
The aim of the event is to give those attending ideas on how to select solutions in a way that benefits their clients and meets regulatory and legal demands.
Frank Potaczek, head of insight and consulting investments, at Defaqto, will give a round-up of 2014 in the morning session, in terms of providers and propositions by numbers, and provide an overview of the key trends and developments Defaqto is seeing in the DFM sector.

He will also outline what can be expected in 2015. Later in the day he will give a second presentation on undertaking in-depth DFM research and creating a robust audit trail.
He will provide a framework for selecting and monitoring investment solutions, and for effectively evidencing activity in this area.
Harry Hibbert, associate director of research, Moody's analytics, will look at assessing risk in multi-asset investment solutions from a modeller's perspective.
Later on Ronnie Binnie at Standard Life Wealth, will present on pensions and retirement and Patrick Ingram of Parmenion will look at DFM and At Retirement - utilising DFMs to enhance the advisory proposition.
Former FSA veteran Andrew Glessing, who spent nearly eight years with the regulator, is going to deliver a talk on regulation.
The current managing director of advisory services at The Consulting Consortium will look at if advisers know what the regulator is looking for during a supervisory visit and is a firm's investment due diligence up to scrutiny?
There will also be networking opportunities during the day.
