Rory Percival to speak at EIS event in January
Former FCA regulator Rory Percival will speak at an Enterprise Investment Scheme Association event aimed at Financial Planners and influencers.
Mr Percival will cover topics such as EIS rules and compliance. Mr Percival, who has held Chartered Financial Planner status, has been a regular speaker at events such as Financial Planning conferences, the Paraplanners Conference, the Paraplanner Powwow and many others in recent years.
He joined the regulator in 2006 and has been involved with high profile projects such as pension switching, structured products, platforms and intermediaries, risk profiling, centralised investment propositions, non-advised/simplified advice and due diligence on products and services.
Other speakers will include Eloise Ellis, new business development executive at Lark Insurance, Gillian Roche Sauders from consultancy Bates Wells Braithwaite and Ian Cornwall of the Personal Investment Management & Financial Advice Association (PIMFA).
A fund manager round table will also be held that will feature the chief executive of IW Capital Luke Davis and will discuss what fund managers look for to fund a business.
The event in January will focus on the Financial Planning profession and it’s role in EISs and will include workshops and seminars covering topics such as new investment opportunities and techniques, best practice, compliance research, due diligence and professional indemnity.
The event in central London will also give Financial Planners the opportunity to meet IFAs, fellow investors and private equity houses.
Mark Brownridge, EISA director general said: "As an IFA, we can help you to instantly capitalise on post-budget enhancements by saving time, generating new revenue streams and earning more."
Mr Brownridge added: "we can help investors understand the benefits and logistics of EIS as well as introduce you to IFA’s, fellow investors and PE Houses."
The EISA recently announced that it will offer Financial Planners lower fees in an attempt to encourage more to become members of the organisation. Fees for IFAs for the first year have been discounted from £250 per annum per individual to £100. Corporate rates are also available at initial discounted rates, EISA said.
EISA is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to aid the provision of capital to UK small and medium-sized enterprises through the Enterprise Investment Scheme and the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme.
The event will be held on Friday 26 January from 8:30am - 12:30pm at Aviva Digital Garage in Hoxton Square. It is free for EISA members and £50 for non members.
