The FCA has warned about fake databases purportedly from the regulator being offered for sale on the Raid Forum(s) website.
The watchdog said: “We have become aware that the Raid Forum website is offering what purports to be FCA information for sale.”
The Raid Forum or Raid Forums website is use to exchange information and databases, including leaks, with some evidence it is used by hackers to exchange information.
The FCA says that the information being offered has been “improperly obtained from third parties” but based on a detailed assessment it believes that there has been no compromise of its systems or data held by the FCA.
The regulator is encouraging all Internet Service Providers and operators of browsers to disable access to the Raid Forum website.
It adds that consumers, regulated firms and individuals should ensure that they obtain FCA information from the register or other legitimate sources.
